The "Pourtensious" Art of Eric Sternfels

Pourtensious Art by Eric M. Sternfels
We came across an amazing site that tells the story of how an artist incorporates an interesting blend of functionality, recycling, and vintage creativity, then turns it into some mind-blowing whimsical tea sculptures. Pourtensious Lighting is the brainchild of artist/architect Eric M. Sternfels. Eric resurrects orphaned tea kettles, tea cups, plates and percolators into some fabulous, classic and funky sculptures, that’s definitely a conversation piece anywhere they are displayed.

“I create these pieces not just to amuse those who see them, but to steer focus onto the handsome form and design of the everyday vessels of bygone days,” said Sternfels. Eric names his lighting business Pourtensious inspired by the “pouring” illusion of the electrical wire hanging together with the “tension” of the supporting chain. The word Pourtensious is a pun derived from the word “portentous” which means marvelous, amazing and prodigious.

Check out some of Eric Sternfels' amazing creations on his website Pourtensious, Inc. It is definitely an unbelievable storyboard, delivering an exquisite mélange of creativiTEA! How divine!
