Today we commemorate World Water Day, an international observance and an opportunity to learn more about water-related issues. World Water Day dates back to the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development where an international observance for water was recommended. The United Nations General Assembly responded by designating March 22, 1993 as the first World Water Day. It has been held annually since then. Each year, UN-Water — the entity that coordinates the UN’s work on water and sanitation — sets a theme for World Water Day corresponding to a current or future challenge.
Did you know that water quality is important when it comes to brewing tea? PH levels, chlorine and mineral impurities affect the taste and aroma of your tea. Certain types of water like distilled water is not recommended for brewing tea because it leaves the tea lifeless. Mineral water can be pricey, but yet unnecessary. It is suggested that a tabletop water filter pitcher is a cost-effective and easier solution for filtering impurities out of your water.
In light of the water crisis around the world, let's be good stewards of taking care of our water resources. Not only will it affect the taste of your tea, but it affects the food you cook, your skin, body, hair, laundry and even your lawn.
