You don’t have to enjoy art only by well-known masters like Pablo Picasso, Matisse, Leonardo da Vinci, Salvador Dali or Vincent van Gogh, just to celebrate Art Appreciation Day. Art encompasses a world of modern artists, poets, sculptors, dancers, crafters and musicians. These genres of artistic form meander through the passion and soul of the artists and those who appreciate the voice of their art.
It’s unfortunate that budget cuts are affecting the exposure and awareness of art in our communities nowadays. In spite of that, we must not allow art to get lost in the politics of who gets funding and who does not. We must show our solidarity in keeping art alive so that the next generation will enjoy the artistic contributions, talents and gifts from current and former generations. Whatever medium you enjoy, embrace it passionately and and allow yourself to bask in the tranquility of art's tapestry!
